HMI and Controls Upgrade for a Three-Generator Ozone Plant
A legacy controls interface on a three-generator ozone plant upgraded to a modern HMI, without losing the operating logic the plant depended on.

Challenge
The plant relied on a legacy touch-panel project with many separate screens and limited documentation of the original control philosophy. The upgrade had to retain the critical generator, injection, alarm and trip functions.
Engineering Approach
Reviewed the legacy screens and site operation; defined the Functional Design Specification, operating modes, sequences, permissives, interlocks, alarms, setpoints and I/O; then supported the controls programmer through HMI review, commissioning and functional testing.
Outcome
- A modern three-generator interface with clearer status, generator priority selection and diagnostics, while preserving the operating logic the plant depended on.
